WHO WE ARE

We are a people passionate about social and economic development and uniting members with an aim of having a positive impact on their livelihoods. Vision Bags is a Community Based Organization that started in 2014 in Seeta Mukono, Uganda. The CBO started with one project which was training and making quality African print bags of all types (that's why the name - Vision 'Bags').

However, as we prospered in the project and made impact, our hand power increased such that we could do a little  more to touch the community even better. So we engaged in more lifelong practical projects and activities in line with wealth creation and overall life empowerment through life skills training. The list includes; Tailoring (bags, jackets, masks, wallets and more), reusable pads, beading, candles, bar and liquid soap, psycho-social support, and more.

With all social responsibility, Vision Bags focuses its charitable effort but in a modern approach in different sectors of our society including but not limited to; orphans, disabled, youth and school drop outs, widows and single mothers and the elderly.

We have ever since worked together with other CBOs, NGOs, government bodies, religious organizations and individuals to cause a positive impact on individual lives and the community at large.

As a Christian based organization, here is a Biblical principle we apply: Luke 16:9 "use your worldly resource to benefit others and makes friends them when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to your to eternal home." We render all our service with the knowledge and consciousness that whatever resource God trusts with us (monetary and non monetary like skills), He is testing our stewardship. Therefore we are a generous, compassionate, enthusiastic and responsible stakeholder in lives of people and the general community where God has placed us.

    Aims and Objectives

  • To motivate the youth to make productive and life changing decisions in their lives.

  • To promote art and modern culture and education among the youths

  • To equip the poor communities with life skills that can enable them to enrich their livelihoods.

  • To instill a sense of team work, responsibility and patriotism among the community.

  • To restore hope for the people who have been underprivileged in the community.

  • To revive the positive saving culture among community members.

OUR MODERN APPROACH

Vision Bags has a unique approach towards charity, in which we believe EVERYONE CAN ACHIEVE! Our CHARITY BENEFICIARIES achieve, our CLIENTS achieve and WE achieve an organization - all at the same time! Here's how we do it?

Besides training beneficiaries in the mastery of lifelong employable skills, Vision Bags makes high quality products from the very skills (especially bags, jackets, masks and more), and these are sold out on the local market by  the CBO. The returns are then brought back into the organization to carry on more free skill trainings and other non profit ventures. The products of Vision Bags over the past 8 years have proven to be top quality, unique, innovate-driven yet competitively priced and this has made them highly demanded in the market place. Lead schools, renowned NGOs, private organizations and countless individuals are our satisfied customers to this date. From such approach, the organization has been featured in lead newspapers in the country like Daily Monitor, Bukedde, Kamunye, and on TV stations like KSTV and others.

The beauty with our approach is that - it gives an opportunity to our partners and clients to indirectly contribute towards charity, yet also receiving products worth their support. Therefore, when anyone buys a quality product from Vision Bags, they may purchase with an aim of satisfying their need, yet by all means, even without their knowledge, they have already made a charity contribution - how inclusive! Matter of fact, most of our clients don't even know that we are a charity based organization; for them, it's about the value and satisfaction they get from our products. Yet even in that oblivion, they are still supporters of the charitable vision of vision bags.

The main benefit we have enjoyed with this approach is SELF SUSTAINABILITY.

Approach
Beneficiaries

BENEFICIARIES

INDIVIDUALS.

Since 2014, when Vision Bags started, the CBO has registered notable positive impacts on lives and livelihoods of individuals who have enrolled directly to acquire training in practical skills at Vision Bags. Many who have mastered skills have started their own businesses which, now employ and train others and thereby improving individual standards of living. These individuals include children, youths, widows and elderly. (Please check our testimonials page to see real life stories of lives changed.

GENERAL COMMUNITY

Because the CBO has quality products it puts on the market, the general community has also benefited in that. Jobs have also been created for people who help the CBO with marketing and other operations related services.

BUSINESS COMMUNITY

The CBO has also impacted the business community not only because we put out quality products to the market, but because we also substantially support other businesses when we procure the materials we use in our production and trainings.

Our Partners

OUR PARTNERS

At Vision Bags, we believe that yes we ca go somewhere by ourselves, but we can go far with others. That's why we embark on involving partners in our activities and operations so as to strengthen our mission and secure our charity vision.

We have partners that have engaged directly and other indirectly.

INDIRECT PARTNERS: These are those who purchase the quality products of Vision Bags without even knowing that the profit off of their money will go towards reaching a charity vision.

DIRECT PARTNERS: We also have direct partners; those who enter into a deliberate understanding and purpose to work with Vision Bags towards the charity vision. For the past 8 years the list of these direct partners has kept on growing and some of these being individuals, CBOs, NGOs, institutions, religious organizations like churches, government bodies and more.

We have comfortably worked with Kyambogo University, Compassion (Misindye Child Development Center UG-613 Seeta), World Vision Mbale, Compassion (St. Peters Child Development Center UG-415 Lugazi), Good Neighbors Uganda Bukesa Muyenga, Woman of Vision for All, EnVentures Uganda, African Partners for Child Poverty Uganda (APPCO) and we believe that many more are still coming on board.
