OUR LIFE CHANGING PROJECTS

Vision bags 21.jpg

1. TAILORING / BAGS MAKING

In our tailoring project, we train and make quality African print products. We mainly focus on Bags of all types and sizes which are highly demanded, and we sell them for a profit that has made it possible for the organization to carry on operations since 2014. It’s our primary way of generating some income to finance the communal operations that our vision focuses on.

Since it is a lifelong practical and lucrative skill, we decided to train and pass it on to other people in our community to also earn from it and enrich their livelihoods.

We therefore introduced it as a Certificate program which is conducted in a period of three (3) months. It is delivered practically in private and group sessions at our Center depending on the audience and timings of the beneficiaries.

The certificate program is made up of the following modules;

  1. Introduction to Commercial Tailoring

  2. Orientation to craft resources, categories and usages

  3. Basics of Measurement and shaping for all bag types and sizes

  4. Bag assembling, styling and mastering

  5. Final design and finishing of the bag

  6. Market approach and Product Marketing strategies

After the three months, our beneficiaries are ready with all the preparation and are potential to produce a quality market competitive African print bag. From the period of 2014 to date, Vision Bags has piled so many success stories and testimonies from the people we have trained in bags making. Most of them have started successful Bag manufacturing businesses distributed in different parts of the country and have been able to sustain their families and enrich their livelihoods on this skill.

As Vision Bags, we are confident to say that this project has great endurance and the future is bright!

"AGE" PROJECT

Besides our internally built projects, we have partners who we join hands with in several projects. One of those is the Action for Girls' Empowerment Project (AGE).
This project was proposed by APPCO Uganda, funded by The MasterCard Foundation with the main intention of empowering girls in this post-COVID19 season. We
We are part of this project as an executing CBO together with Woman of Vision for All (WOVA).

Still as part of tailoring, Vision Bags' latest discovery is the revolutionary Vision Jackets. We make quality African print bomber jackets in all sizes and colors. The invention is promising as our growing number of satisfied customers have concluded that their quality is internationally competing. It's our manner that every time we discover something life changing, we release it out into other people that it may also impact their lives.

PADS MAKING

Vision Bags trains interested beneficiaries in the making of quality reusable sanitary pads. The major intentions of this project are two;

i. To increase access to cheap sanitary pads for girls.
ii. To equip the learners with a skill that will not only impact the community but also change their financial well-being.

LIQUID & BAR SOAP MAKING

We also conduct trainings on how to make quality liquid soap and bar soap, with a major intention of equipping our beneficiaries with this lifelong and practical avenue of creating income using a little investment.

CANDLE MAKING

Candles have proven to be a product that though not as fast moving, it is still a necessary item on the stall. Therefore with ample marketing knowledge and skills (which Vision Bags provides to trainees), making and selling candles can very well earn someone an ample living. More still, candles require very less to produce, yet the margin is relatively reasonable and that is why Vision Bags also conducts this training for the good of our beneficiaries.

VISION SACCO

Upon registration into the organization, a member is spontaneously entered into the SACCO where there is a mandatory weekly saving accumulated until it is sufficient to start up a business of his/her own, then it is distributed to each respective member. This is done with the intention that everyone that acquires a skill at Vision bags  may be financially able to start up a personal business where the skill can be employed to develop their livelihoods. For members who genuinely can't afford the weekly contribution, pooled funds from the CBO are used to top up for them for a mutual benefit.

This project is stretched out to benefit under privileged people in the society so as to bridge the gap of income inequality in our community. The basis of benefit is both individual and communal.
